Tempting Turtle Cheesecake

Combine crumbs and butter; blend well. Press in bottom and up the sides of a 10" spring from pan. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes until set and cool. In sauce pan over low heat, melt caramels in evaporated milk and stir until smooth. Cool 5 minutes and pour over crust and top with 1 1/2 cups pecans. In bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and mix until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into pan and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup pecans. Bake at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes. Garnish with turtle candy when cool, if desired.
